After seeing the comments on my previous post Vibrant Geometric Patterns, it was clear that we needed to discuss my love of drawing inspiration from pillows – hah!
Creating new and unique wall finishes is all in the art of finding inspiration and even more so in recognizing it. Lots of it is out there folks, you just have to open you eyes to it and find a way to keep track of your ideas. Once the inspiration starts flowing you will have a collection larger than you might expect with the option to pick and choose from the best of the best.
What a mouthful of a description right? I’m sure your mind is swimming (pun intended) with thoughts about what that really could be. Set your creative juices at ease with a peek at the image above. This is our inspiration piece for this playroom project. The design shown here is actually created with wall decals and can be found at Designed Designer’s Etsy Page. My client preferred to have this design painted so that we could create a custom look with even more underwater characters.
Some quick tips on stenciling to a fellow painter quickly led to some last minute, late night painting determination. I called on my sister’s help as I often do with my faux finishes. She is an excellent assistant when it comes to glazes and other projects where I need a hand. This was definitely one of those cases as the paper template for this logo was approximately 10 feet x 10 feet.
