From Sketch to Soothing Autumn Scene
Inspired by paintings hung around my client Donna’s home and a request for birch trees, sketches got underway. After our initial brainstorming session, I found out that the client’s family knows personally and admires the work of Canadian artist James Keirstead. He is famous for his representation of the Canadian landscape with a palette knife and creates very soothing images of grain elevators and landscapes. Donna even owned a signed copy of one of Keirstead’s books. This book contained many of the artist’s works including the two that gave me my main source of inspiration for the space.
